While I had one baby on me and others with me in the cradle would work 12 hour shifts grinding floors and cutting off wallpaper. Ha! The home was starting to look nice, but there was a lot to be done. To complete this task, I was prepared to spend a considerable amount of money and time searching for the perfect home. For my budget to remain intact, I went with my 3 boys looking for bargains at estate sales. We would go from Thursday to Saturday at estate sales and garage sales, buying old and new furniture. Then I painted and sanded the driveway throughout the week. The furniture I found looked like... This is the moment my love for restoring furniture started. Although our house had been furnished, I could not quit. At the local market I set up a little space, and also sold pieces. Then I bought more that I could decide about and outgrew the area. Over 1000 people visited my house in one weekend to purchase everything on the ground floor. My business Growing Days began here. In addition to my thriving business, I also had the pleasure of growing our family. Being a new mom I was able to find the perfect equilibrium to start my own business as well as be a good mother. Growing Days was the obvious option. The year was 2013, and my sweet daughter Nora came along our 4th baby. The direction of my business was excellent, however I was forced to take some time off. I took a break from vintage furniture to spend the time I needed with my children. The time was right. The phone rang again after several minutes. People contacted me asking to assist them in decorating their homes and interiors. They were mostly people who came to my open home to purchase furniture. I began taking on clients one at a time going at my own pace however it wasn't for long to have numerous accounts and had an entire home improvement business. There is a good chance that I'd have laughed had I had been told that the business was going to be the premise of an upcoming TV show that airs on the DIY Network. It's fun to reflect about the idea.
